More Stories of the English Language

WE TEND TO TAKE FOR GRANTED the words we use everyday whether in our reading or writing. The fact is, there is a story behind the everyday words we use.

Henry Hitching’s The Secret Life of Words: How English Became English (John Murray, 2008) celebrates the diversity of the English language. Those with a love of language should find this new book greatly entertaining and a fount of knowledge.
