W.S. MERWIN

W.S. MERWIN’s Migration: New and Selected Poems (Copper Canyon Press, 2005), a collection of new and selected poems from between 1951 and 2001, has been shortlisted for the 2005 National Book Award for Poetry. Merwin, whose book of poems, The Carrier of Ladders (1970), was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1971, also has two new books out in September 2005: a collection of new poems, Present Company (Copper Canyon Press, 2005), and a delightful memoir, Summer Doorways (Shoemaker & Hoard, 2005).
