THRITY UMRIGAR is the author of three novels, If Today Be Sweet, The Space Between Us and Bombay Time, and a memoir, First Darling of the Morning: Selected Memories of an Indian Childhood. Her new novel, The Weight of Heaven, will be published by HarperCollins in April 2009.
