Orhan Pamuk is a perfect candidate for the 2005 Nobel Prize for Literature for his contribution to World Literature with a consistent body of work. Other excellent choices for this prize would be Ryszard Kapuscinski (author of The Shadow of the Sun: My African Life, trans. from the Polish by Clara Glowceska), Philip Roth, E.L. Doctorow, Milan Kundera, Margaret Atwood, Harold Pinter, Don DeLillo and Amos Oz. (British playwright Harold Pinter has won the 2005 Nobel Prize for Literature, the first Briton to win the literature award since V.S. Naipaul won it in 2001.)
